1 Chronicles 29:15 We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.

Sin

Genesis 4:7
Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.

The hairs on the young man's back raised to meet a particularly wonderful set of fingertips. They were the types of fingertips that could scold and still seem pleasing; the type of fingers that could stop a man in his tracks; and the type of hands that worked hard and never lost their softness. He was a lucky man for those hands were upon his back, letting him know that they loved him. He breathed in her scent, never wanting to forget the way she smelled that night. Little did he know that her scent would follow him for the rest of his life.

Seconds turned to minutes as he lost himself in her embrace, ignoring the itchiness the grass had brought to his back. He would have time to scratch it later. In and out his breath came, losing its depth yet gaining strength. A bead of sweat formed just beneath his widow's peak, pooling, and falling ever so gently down his forehead and off the tip of his nose. Straight into her eye. Yet, she did not care, barely even noticed actually, and the two continued their dance. Soon his adolescence won and the dancing ceased with a final bang.

"I love you" he whispered tenderly into her ear, making her neck tingle.

As he awaited a response, a slight breeze kicked up a chill to the air that was previously absent. He realized a blanket would have been a good thing to have packed.

"I love you too" she finally responded, giving him goosebumps that were in no way a response to the cold night air.

The two lay in each other's arms, gazing up at the stars. They could not wish to be anywhere else, for tonight their wish had already been granted and it was found between their arms. This night would be forever stamped upon their memories; a beacon in a sea of despair. For tomorrow would bring back the realities of life. This boy and this girl were not cast from the same mold. If the town were to find out about their little escapade out in the field, devils would surely be on the wind. Devils that not even the boy's connections could vanquish. At school these two young lovers would be forced to ignore each other, loathe each other even, and most definitely not speak. The young man squeezed her one last time and then began to search for his clothes.

The next morning came much too quickly for the boy, considering he had only managed a few hours of sleep. This was less due to time spent in bed, and more due to the rate at which his mind was racing. Images of his girl never left his head the previous night, and even found themselves wedged in his dreams. He was in love, and just as any teenager in love all he could see was happiness.
